I am deeply hurt
My soul bleeds
And my heart aches
It is in this brokenness
in this hurt and pain
that divine light filters thru my soul.
Shirley cahayom: love poems squeezed from the juice
Of my heart and soul
Through the strings
Of my takamine guitar
My heart will compose
an undying song of love
Hoping that from fret to fret
My heart’s deepest longings and desires
Will be conveyed to you
In a song from my heart of hearts.
The Eyes Of Love
The eyes of love stare at me
bright and intense as the desert sun
I see in you the newly awakened dawn
it’s garment spread in phosphorescent rays
that envelop my naked soul keeping it warm
like the rich Columbia’s brew.
Through the years,I keep you safely tucked
in my heart, nurturing you through the center of my being.
I bask in your periwinkle days
that tango with the wind
and bear the pain and loneliness
Of the aubergine nights of despair
that cripple my soul and shatter it into a thousand and one pieces
that takes another heart to mend.
But the moon is always there
filtering through the window pane.its luminescence lull me
to golden slumber where I can chase my multi-colored
dreams.
